Curtain Wall Features

Notched Mullions

The (parametric or cell-based) mullion profile can provide notched symbol that enables viewing glass when you see it in plan and section view.

Mullions Association

The mullions and panels retain their properties when curtain wall is resized using the edit handles. During resizing, the panel profile restricts any relative resizing of curtain wall elements, rather it increases or reduces the number of panels to best fit the frame size.

  • For fixed spacing, center-justified the curtain wall prevents small slivers of panels on the ends.
  • In case of center/middle justification, if the exterior panels are small (half than normal), split the leftover space to external panels.
  • If you want curtain walls with even panels, use Maximum or Minimum Spacing options.
  • If you use the Fixed Spacing option, and drew a curtain wall that does not allow room for a panel and mullions, the curtain wall overrides the tool spacing option.

Flooded Space Association

Associates flooded spaces created to bound a space with walls and curtain walls with Association on.

Schedules

Curtain walls support schedules, similar to other DataGroup System complying elements. The panel and frame details of a selected curtain wall can be altered on the fly, or you can quickly amend the Height of the Curtain Wall system to a desired value via the Schedules interface.

Profile Variations Selector

The DataGroup Cell Selector (CurtainWallProfiles.cel) provides a library and the cell name for selecting variations of parametric cell selections for the Curtain Wall System Frame Profile.

Export Capability

Curtain walls comply with inter-disciplinary applications, such as Energy Simulator, where curtain wall elements exhibit energy simulation constructions when exported through the Analytical Space Model (ASM).
